Privacy Policy

Union for the Conservation of Raptors (UCR) respects the privacy of online visitors and users and is committed to protecting the privacy and security of the visitors and users of this Web site.

This privacy policy will advise you as to how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. Please read this policy carefully. We may change this policy from time to time in order to address new circumstances or changes in site content. All changes will be posted here.

What Information Do We Collect?

When you visit our Web site you may knowingly choose to provide us with personal information about yourself. In addition to this individual information that you may provide to us voluntarily, we collect aggregate data on how you, and all our other visitors, make use of this site.

Personal Information You Choose to Provide

We will not sell, trade, or in any other manner intentionally distribute, disseminate, or disclose any personal identification information about you (such as, for example, your full name, street or mailing address, telephone number or e-mail address) as an individual user of this Web site to any companies, organizations, individuals, or any other third party without having first received your permission. If you enter such information in response to our request that you co-sign a petition, that will be deemed your consent to disclose such information to the recipient of the petition and to any other person to whom we provide a copy of the petition.

Should you send us an e-mail with questions or comments, we may use your personal information in order to respond to your questions or comments. We may also keep your comments or questions for future reference.

One exception to this policy is that we will release specific information about you to comply with any valid legal process requested by a search warrant, subpoena, statute, or court order.

Privacy of Children

UCR does not solicit personal information from minors. We will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of thirteen (13) without prior verifiable parental consent.

If we become aware that a site visitor under the age of thirteen (13) has provided personal information without prior verifiable parental consent, we will remove his or her personally identifiable information from our files. Please note, we may maintain a record of that person’s name and address in a “do not contact” or similar file to prevent subsequent communication with that minor.

Non-personal Web Site Use Information

UCR automatically collects and stores information from each site visitor that is not personally identifying information. As each visitor browses through the Web site, reading and/or downloading pages, we will gather and store certain information about the visit. This information does not identify you personally. We automatically collect and store only the following information about your visit:

  • The Internet domain (for example, if you use a private Internet access account, or if you connect from a school or university domain), and IP address ( a number automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are online) from which you access our Web site.
  • The type of browser and operating system you use to access our site, and other details about your software and hardware configurations.
  • The date and time you access our site.
  • The pages you visit within our site.
  • If you linked to our pages from another Web site, the URL address of that Web site.

In addition, cookies may be used on some UCR Web sites, but solely for purposes of authentification. We do not use cookies to gather information associated with an individual.

We use this non-personal information to help us make this Web site more useful to visitors—to learn about the number of visitors to our site and the types of technology our visitors use.
